Calling All Haikuists and Friends:
I will be leading a haiku workshop and judging the haiku competition at The Buddhist Temple of Chicago’s Summer Festival this Sunday, June 22. (1151 W. Leland Ave.) My workshop will be at 1:15 p.m., followed by the audience reading of their haiku and the Haiku Contest. Please come and partake of all the great activities.
Admission is free. The Festival runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and it is on the north side of Chicago, easily accessible by public transportation.
There will be plenty of food, music, cultural displays, such as those of wooden dolls, books and gifts to buy, including my new book, Haiku and Senryu: A Simple Guide for All.
In fact, the lucky winner of the haiku competition will receive my book as a prize. The theme of this year’s competition is “boat.”
