Dear Friends and Followers,
For those of you who live in the Chicago area, you are invited to my special reading at The New Studio in Evanston, 2948 Central St., Tuesday, April 14 at 7 p.m. The New Studio features a variety of writers and artists, and is a thriving community with monthly meetings.
I will be reading selections of haiku and senryu, both mine and those of other haikuists. The event is free and open to the public, so come and enjoy yourselves. All that is needed is an RSVP to Beth Snyder, beth firstname.lastname@example.org. Seating is limited. I hope to see a lot of my loyal followers, and I look forward to interesting haiku discussion among us at the event. (Ask Beth to put you on her email list, too!)
I hope you have been enjoying The Daily Haiku. For those of you who are new to haiku and senryu, I hope you are motivated to start writing them! Haiku and senryu can be beautiful if they are written well, adhering to their unique literary devices. There are a lot of myths about haiku and senryu. One thing is for sure, they are simply not just cute, random thoughts. There is art behind them.
All my best wishes during the Easter season. Whether you celebrate it or not, live a peaceful, meditative life.
